What is Selfcast TV?
Selfcast TV is a free site where you can upload, view, share and comment on videos. Is SelfcastTV really free?
Oh yes. It is free to upload and view any video. Everyone is welcome. Did we say it was free of charge? So how do I do it? Registering and Uploading Videos on Selfcast
Watching a video is a piece of cake. Just browse around our site or enter a search and click on any video that takes your fancy. We will stream it directly to you from the website. No external players are necessary. All we require is that your browser supports Macromedia Flash. Try this one for instance Before uploading your own videos, you'll first need to sign up for an account. Simply choose a username, password and e-mail account and you'll be a bona fide member of Selfcast TV! Then, take yourself to the upload link where you can upload a video file. Be sure to give it a title, description and then, if you want, keyword tags so that other Selfcasters can find the video more easily. You can even upload a video from your mobile phone! Just register your phone number with Selfcast TV through your profile and you can text us (07893-111-222) or email us (submit@selfcastTV.com) your clips from anywhere, anytime. This service is currently only available in the UK and Europe. How do I find other videos or Selfcast users?
It's simple! Just type in anything you want into our search box. This way you can find relevant videos, channels and even other Selfcasters. What's a channel then?
A channel is a great way of organising videos into a group. And the great thing is other Selfcasters can subscribe to your channel and receive alerts each time the channel changes. For example, say you had a series of video blogs, you could create a channel and as you post each vlog to it, all your subscribers will receive an email telling them your latest instalment is ready to watch. Don't want other Selfcasters to see your channel? Just mark the channel as private when you create it and it's yours, all yours! Muhahaha! Not happy with the order of the videos in your channel? Simply click the edit icon, and you can change the order of the videos by dragging and dropping the clips. Browsing Channels
So you want to know how to browse through channels. It's really quite simple. First, click on the channels' tab located at the top of the page. Once there, you can click the arrow to the right of the results to go through each channel group. Or, you can type your search into the search box. Selfcast will return any public channels that pertain to your query. Create a channel
It's real easy to create your own channel. First and foremost, you must be logged in. To log in, go to the top right hand corner and click on Log In' and follow the steps. If you are not yet registered, again, go to the top right hand corner of the screen and click on register'. Then follow the prompts. All you need is a username, password and an email to register. So, you are all logged in. What next? Well, there are a few ways to go about creating a channel. First, you can create a channel by typing in a search in the search box. Create an entire channel from the results list by clicking on the "Make a new channel with all of these videos" option located at the top of the page. Alternatively, you can click on an individual video and while you watch you can create a new channel or add it to an existing channel heading. All you have to do is click on "add to channel" located below the clip. A separate screen will appear giving you the choice to add this video to a set channel or make a brand new channel specifically for this clip. It's really up to you. Subscribe to a Channel
Subscribe to anther Selfcaster's channel. Go to any profile and click on the plus sign' under their channels section. Add any of their channels to your profile and even be emailed when new content on that channel has been added or changed. Or, you can go to the channels tab and click on any of the channels. At the video page, you can click on the green plus sign at the top of the page and add that channel set to your profile. How easy is that? All the other things you can do on Selfcast
